Why should grout be sealed?
Unsealed grout is porous and not as resilient as tiles and without sealant will quickly discolour. The porous nature of grout means that dirt, oils and liquid may be absorbed into the grout if they are not cleaned often. If any coloured liquid is spilled on the grout and not cleaned off immediately it may stain. This is particularly true of things like coffee and tea.
Having grout sealed is the best way to protect against staining and other discolouration and will keep your tile work looking fresher for much longer. Sealant can also help to protect your tiles from water infiltration.
